The Rwanda Trade Portal, launched in March 2018, is managed by the Rwanda Revenue Authority under the auspices of the National Trade Facilitation Committee and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and Industry. With technical assistance from UNCTAD, ITC, and the EAC Secretariat, the portal and its Team play a key role in digitizing and streamlining cross-border trade procedures in the EAC region.
The Government of Rwanda acknowledges the generous support of its international partners who have financed the development of the portal and related trade facilitation initiatives since 2016:
- USAID and the Government of the Netherlands through TradeMark Africa
- European Union through EAC MARKUP Programs 1 and 2
- African Development Bank as an Implementing Partner of the Finance Facility of the Multilateral Cooperation Center for Development Finance (MCDF)
Their contributions have been instrumental in enhancing trade efficiency and regional economic integration.
