Once the RSB Inspection Officer has checked the consignment and import documents, he / she signs and puts a stamp on the declaration document and validates in the electronic single window.
If a product from an EAC country is new on the market and doesn't have a standardisation mark permit, it is put under seal and and a sample is sent to RSB headquarters for testing.
During the testing process, the consignment will remain in Magerwa or at importer's warehouses and will only be released if found complying. Goods found not complying shall be rejected and detained. Importer may be allowed to re-export or destroy the consignment, under supervision of a Revenue Investigation and Enforcement Department officer.
